The Handmade Bamboo Utensil Pouch is our method of amending utensil waste in our community. The bamboo utensils are sourced from a family-owned company. They are a lighter alternative to the usual metal utensil and attack the disposable utensil waste issue head-on. Our pouches, in which the utensils are wrapped, are made of linen and offer our customers a fun and appealing design. The Small Acts Tote Bag is our method of promoting our message and doing so through sustainable fashion. It is made from 100% cotton and showcases our relevant motto: “Small Acts, Big Changes.”

Most of our members have taken a popular course at our school called AP Environmental Science. This course exposed us to the alarming statistics of plastic waste, one being that there are 40 billion plastic utensils thrown away every year in the United States alone. This affects wildlife, air quality, food production, and overall well-being of the inhabitants on Earth. The hard-hitting statistics of plastic wastage ignited our mission to attack this issue head-on with sustainable lifestyle changes that we can promote to our community. We recognized the severity of each plastic item’s impact on the environment and focused on two main items: disposable plastic utensils and plastic bags. The issue these items bring to the environment solidified our mission to innovate convenient solutions to reduce the carbon footprint on Earth.
